Affordable Renewable Energy Systems
Energy Environmental Corporation has designed and installed high-performance integrated heating, cooling, and hot-water (HVAC) renewable energy systems for the past decade. The company’s proven designs far exceed the performance of the ordinary components that make up these systems when used alone. Integrated systems utilize ground source heat pumps (GHP), solar hot water (SHW), hydronic radiant heating and radiant cooling, intelligent zoning, energy and heat recovery ventilators (ERV, HRV) – all of which are often powered with renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaic panels, small wind turbines, or micro-hydropower.
We are located near Denver, Colorado at the base of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We have teamed up with some of the world’s leading experts to provide affordable total solutions to meet our clients' needs. We provide a single point of contact for design, installation, and maintenance of efficient heating, cooling, indoor air quality, and renewable energy systems. We can operate either as a standalone contractor or as an integrated design/build team member. In either case, our expertise provides our clients with superior competitive advantages.
We believe that high performance at a reasonable cost is achievable and that green components integrated together as a holistic system far surpass the energy and financial performance of standalone systems. We have created a successful practice for sustainable systems with a focus on energy savings and the health, comfort, and safety of the occupants. We always provide our clients financial justification for their investment. In most cases, the overall investment—including the cost of our services—is cash-flow positive when compared to ordinary systems.
We believe "green" education and training is an important part of solving today’s challenges created by the world economic crisis, greenhouse gas emissions, and the national dependence on imported oil. With 40% of energy consumption related to building operations, investing in heating, cooling, and hot water (HVAC) systems provides the highest impact. We are the leading provider of regional sustainable systems seminars for design/build professionals in Colorado. Our approach addresses the building, the site, and the HVAC elements as holistic components of a total system. We either deliver these services directly to residential clients or partner with design and construction professionals for competitive advantage meeting their clients’ needs.
Albert Wallace founded Energy Environmental Corporation (EEC) as a veteran-owned small busness in 2006. Al's expertise lies in the integration of high performance systems for low energy buildings. These patent-pending solutions integrate geothermal, solar thermal, radiant in-floor hydronic heating and cooling with highly reliable simple-to-operate controls for superior comfort, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency. EEC has developed off-site manufacturing methods for integrated systems which provide showcase quality installations with the highest reliability and lowest cost. EEC's design/build projects have won numerous regional and national awards and have been featured in national publications. EEC is one of three GeoPro Master Dealers in Colorado with WaterFurnace, the technology market leader for geothermal heat pumps and controls in the U.S.
Al is a member of the American Society of Heating and Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE); an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects; a Certified GeoExchange Designer (CGD) and Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by the Association of Energy Engineers, a Certified Traner and Installer by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA); and certified and permitted by the Colorado Division of Water Resources for geoexchange systems. Mr. Wallace has earned the LEED for Homes Accredited Professional designation from the U.S. Green Building Council. He served as past President of the Colorado Heat Pump Association, and as a HERS rater and Director of E*Star Colorado. Mr. Wallace holds Advanced Building Science Master's Certification, and is a certified contractor for Tridium's NiagaraAX enterprise control software. Al is a voting member on the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) 2015 Uniform Solar Energy & Hydronics Code Technical Committee, the City of Centennial's Building Code Board of Review, and serves on UponorCorporation's North American Radiant Advisory Council.
Al Wallace consults worldwide and provides training seminars throughout the U.S. He trained at the Master Builder Gewerbe Akademie, Rottweil, Germany, and completed software modeling training with Vela Solaris in Winthur Switzerland, based on integrated systems developed by the University of Applied Sciences Rapperswil (HSR), Switzerland. EEC's radiant floor cooling controls are currently hosted on modular hardware manufactured by Beckhoff Automation in Germany. Al serves on the Board of Directors of the Timber Framer's Guild and is a contributor to their newsletter writing on sustainable design and systems. He served as the radiant floor cooling consultant for the U.S. Army's Special Operations Forces Net Zero Energy Barracks housing 1,000 troops at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Mr. Wallace holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Golden Gate University in California and dual Master’s degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture with Certificates in Design/Build from the University of Colorado at Denver.
